Vedic Chart Reading

This is not the kind of astrology where we hyper focus on which zodiac sign one or two planets were in at your time of birth, Vedic astrology goes deep and is a look at the intricate weave of celestial relationship dynamics happening at your time of birth and how they relate to the constantly shifting planetary placements throughout your life.

 

We can use astrology to bring greater awareness to our strengths, and our areas of challenge and growth, to prepare us for what is ahead and accept what has now past as a part of a grand plan. It's a map to guide us with enough space for a bit of mystery and surprise.

How I came to Vedic Astrology:

 

After making a big intuitive leap of faith to quit my job, I used my leaving present money to buy myself a reading and decided I wanted to learn this for myself, the energy I get from practicing astrology lets me know this is what I’m meant to be doing.

 

What is 'Vedic' Astrology?

 

Vedic Astrology, or Jyotish as it’s also called is a Lunar based astrology system, where the placement of the Moon is of greater significance than the Sun. The position of the Moon, and which star constellations were on the Eastern horizon at your time of birth (called your Ascendant or Rising Sign) are the two most significant placements in your chart. Vedic Astrology also uses the sidereal calculation system, which is what astronomers use to map the sky. This system accounts for the small shifts in our perspective of the position of the stars that occur every year and is therefore the most accurate map of where we are in relationship to the stars today.

If you have ever looked into your Astrological chart and placements before, likely that will have been using the Tropical or Western system of astrology and therefore your Vedic reading will reveal a different map for you in terms of the zodiac sign each planet resides in as well as which of the 12 houses they sit in.  I can assure you that it will all make sense once we’ve had a look at your chart from the position and relational perspective of EVERY planet in your chart and delved into some of the many divisional charts and personal planetary cycles that are unique to you birth time, date and place.

Having an accurate birth time is particularly important. You want to know as close to the minute as possible, ideally as recorded on your birth certificate. If you don’t have an accurate birth time there are a couple of techniques that can be used to give you an insightful reading, it’s just important to be clear on how accurate you believe your birth time to be. Hint, Mothers are notorious for having quite creatively interpretive memories of the actual time, and who can blame them considering the huge birthing experience they were in at the time.

A general birth chart reading will involve a look into the qualities and energies that are the driving force behind how you act, think and feel. We can delve into relationship patterns with family, friends, and lovers, your talents and passions, and what opportunities and challenges are coming up for the year ahead. If you have a particular area of your life that you’d like to focus on, the reading can be steered more towards your area of interest.
